Habitat for Humanity - Paraguay Build :::

Date:

February, 2010

Details:

Once again, Bruce Merges is a leading a team on an excursion for Habitat for Humanity. This time, he will be going to Paraguay in March.

The team will be building a home (or possibly two) for a very needy family (or two).

If you are interested in working on the team, Bruce may still have an opening or two. Even if you can’t come yourself, please consider asking some of your friends and/or family to come. It is a very rewarding experience!

The trip fee for this trip is $1,340.00. The airfare varies, but for most of us it’s been between $800 and $1,100. The trip fee covers the usual donation toward the build plus the hotel, food and in-country transportation. You will need to cover a few other costs such as visas (for US citizens, it’s $65.00) and spending money.

Time is of the essence, so please contact Bruce as soon as possible if you are interested!

Donations towards the trip or a general donation to HFH is always a huge help to help reduce the fees for anyone participating in this trip. If you donate towards the general fund, it helps reduce the cost for other planned trip particpants.

Frost and Sullivan Best Practices Award to Control Technologies :::

Date:

February, 2010

Details:

Control Technologies has just been honored with a national award!

Frost and Sullivan is the most respected marketing research company of its type in the US. They analyze companies in many vertical markets (Building Automation Systems is one of them), and annually they issue awards to companies that they feel, through independent research, merit the honor. We have been awarded the Best Practices – Customer Value Enhancement Award for 2010. Only one is issued annually, and they do their research nationally.

We did not apply for this award – we were on a short list of potential winners, based on research and interviews with “sources with our industry,” in the fall of last year. The initial list was further reduced to three finalists. All three finalists participated in interviews; Terry Reynolds talked to two analysts for almost two hours, and was impressed with what they knew about our markets and who they talk to. The results of the interviews with the finalists were compared by the F&S department team, and CTI's winning of this aware will be announced at a national meeting in Texas in March, along with other winners in other categories.

There are several reasons why this award is important to CTI:

1. It is a COMPANY award – we are recognized, by and independent expert, as a company that is “doing the right things”.

2. The award validates our business philosophy – we are a knowledge-based business, not a product-based business. We sell solutions, not “stuff”.

3. Our commitment to open systems and the value that this can bring to clients is at the core of the award.
